While revising the midpoint of Ray of Light, I found myself unexpectedly proud of a quiet scene that allowed a character’s neurodivergent response to stress to surface naturally. It’s a moment shaped by pauses, small actions, and gentle support, and one that reflects experiences I recognise myself.
